New to Climbing?

We’ve got you covered.

What's bouldering?

Bouldering is rock climbing without ropes! When you come to Terra Firma, you won't find any ropes or harnesses but you will find some of the comfiest, cushiest padding on the planet to catch your falls. All you need to bring is yourself!

I'm new here. How do I get started?

We’re stoked that you’re interested in bouldering! Here’s the 411: When you arrive, you’ll need to sign a waiver. (You can also sign the waiver ahead of time.) Join for a day ($16), a month, or a year. Rent some shoes ($5), grab a chalk bag ($2), and you’re ready to go! A kind, friendly, non-intimidating staff member will show you the ropes. Just kidding. There are no ropes.

Do you have rope climbing?

We have zero ropes. Zip. Nada. That’s how much we love bouldering. If you’re skeptical, we encourage you to give it a try! We think you’ll be hooked. Like rope climbing, bouldering is challenging, fun, and socially engaging—only you don’t need a belay partner.

What should I wear?

Think athleisure. Wear an outfit you’d wear to the gym—something light and comfortable. As for your feet, we have climbing shoes you can rent, but if you feel more comfortable in your gym shoes or personal climbing shoes, all the power to you!

Is bouldering dangerous?

Yes. There's no way around it—bouldering is a dangerous sport. That’s why we teach and emphasize bouldering safety. On your first visit, we'll show you a few safety techniques. From there, you can always holler with questions or concerns. Again, bouldering is dangerous, but knowing the rules and watching your surroundings will make it much, much safer.

Kid stuff

Important reminder: You must be 18+ years of age to sign the waiver and enter the facility. If you're under 18, please bring along a parent or guardian.

We love kids, they’re totally welcome here, however there is some red tape. First, your child will get more out of their experience once they’re at least 7 years old. They can climb younger than that but that’s when our route setting will accommodate them better. Second, we charge youth pass price for all kids, no matter the age, if they’re climbing, then they have to pay. Third, We ask that for every three kids there must be an active adult older than 18 watching them and participating in there safety. If the adult is climbing, then they are not watching. We take safety here very seriously and kids are the most likely to have a potential injury if not properly watched. Lately, if younger than 13, they must have parental supervision.
